Snyder’s Hannes Schneider and his wife Catherine Haus Schneider Their Descendants and Times 1534-1939. (Kitchener: MH Snyder, 1941), p. 92. The caption for the picture reads: Below is a group picture taken in the early 1880s. The only picture taken of Grandma (Mrs. Joseph E. Schneider). She is shown sitting in the chair on the porch of Uncle Aaron E. Shantz’s farm house near the old sewer farm on the German Mills road, with Uncle Aaron at the right, Aunt Hannah beside her mother and Christian Eby second from the left.
