Hand and machine-made, painted highchair owned by Louisa Schneider Troxel. It is a child's Windsor highchair in the Sheraton style, painted dark green with freehand painted embellishments in yellow. The striping and freehand decoration has been applied in and around incised lines and ring turnings on legs, spindles and posts. The crest rail is striped and has some freehand floral decoration. Both the back and the front legs are well splayed for balance. The post and three spindles support the crest rail. The entire chair - seat, posts, rails, spindles, legs and rungs - uses dowel construction.
